WOOHOOO! I passed a practice run today. 1.5 miles in 13:39. That's awesome. This whole fvcking time, I've been sticking it on 6.7 MPH and just trying not to fall off. I felt like ****** before running today, but I varied from 9.0 MPH, then when I got too tired, down to 4.5 MPH (1.5 minutes run, then 1 minute walk, or atleast try to keep that pattern going), and I passed without too much of a problem. Man, to think I've been doing it fvcking wrong this whole time. And I used the breathing tips everyone suggested, and I don't know which one worked, but I made it without my side killing me, so that was good. Thanks everyone. Novermber 17th is the real one though. If I can pass that fvcking son of a bitch run, then I don't have to worry about all of this ****** for a long time. And I'm so tired of stressing over this crap. Thanks for the tips again.

Awesome. I'll try that out at PT on Monday.
So, you are in the Air Force eh? The tip you need to follow if you want to pass the PT test is to run regularly ALL year not just before your annual test. We do PT three times a week here and most everybody can do a 1.5 in 12:30 or less. It's all in the conditioning and takes time to get there. I have no problem passing the test but I also power walk 4 miles 3 times a week all year long. Good Luck.

To help relax your arms and hands, pretend you're holding a potato chip cupped in the palm of your hands and don't break the chip. If your trying to sprint (not run or jog), pump those arms & lift those knees. Check out the delts & arms or great sprinters... they're ripped.

Nah, Navy. I do PT 5 times a week, on account of the fact that I'm on mando. I've always sucked at running, but I'm finding out that I've been running wrong this whole time. I'm 76 inches tall, and running at 6.7 MPH just ends up hurting my legs, which is what I've been doing this whole time. But yea, I'm working on bettering my running. Gotta earn that E6 pay I guess.
