have any mods seen Casiotech's posts?

Every single thread that guy enters becomes a flame fest because he just turns everything into personal attacks and belittling everyone. I will admit I've been baited by the troll and had my fair set of responses to his posts, but I'm officially done with it.

I'm just wondering if any mods are eyeing him out. It's just pathetic that he continues to talk down to everyone and give personal attacks when they disagree with him. I thought AT had more integrity than that.

P.S. Some of his threads are definitely amusing though

and I'm not trying to be a tattle tail, but he's virtually ruining the better threads in the Console forum. it was a lot better before he started coming there a few weeks ago.

Dude has single-handedly made the Console Gaming forum suck... it's the truth.

BTW, since DAPUNISHER is the only mod who posts in the Console Gaming forum, you might as well make him the mod of that forum...

he gets picked on because of the way he acts. everyone knows he always goes off for no reason and starts to belittle people when they make comments that he disagrees with. it's just to the point it was so annoying to see him ruining the console forum that I made this thread.

Agreed. I also am not innocent in baiting him in a thread or two, but he has been bringing down every single thread for the past 2 or 3 weeks. I support any actions brought against him to keep him out, but I'm not stupid.....I don't know if he's really broken any rules.

It's pretty obvious that he's trolling, as his posts are obviously meant to draw attention. Where he crosses the line is with the personal insults. I'm a little baffled why he hasn't been banned yet.

I'm hesitant to support banning him (or anyone) because I enjoy reading opposing viewpoints, even if it were to come from "fanboys" of a particular system. But he isn't just trying to present an opposing viewpoint, he throws out baseless conjecture and demands it be accepted as fact. One of my favorite aspects of Anandtech is that we have a lot of analytical thinkers and his illogical flamebait might as well be blood in shark-infested waters.

Generally you can just ignore most trolls but he is relentless and apparently has way too much free time. I wish we had more participation in the Console forum, so in my opinion the best solution would be for him to calm down and adopt some semblance of logic, but I don't see that happening.

I think he deserves a vacation for his offenses, but give him one more chance. If he keeps it up when/if he comes back, toss him.

Well, I think a large contingent finds him troublesome in the console forum as it's not as lenient toward being as crass as in forums like off-topic and possibly politics and news. Now, I think some of his posts are not as bad as others and I've responded in a manner that I would've responded to anyone (i.e. answered the question, etc), but how everything turns incredibly crude and straying off topic isn't helpful. Although, I think there is a bit of instigation from others that just makes things even worse in some cases. I saw the majority of that instigation in ATOT though rather than console where things tended to be civil.

Is it possible just to block people from posting in certain sections for a period of time (or just until said block is removed)? I think a block from console section for whatever time deemed worthy may be the best course of action.

I was wondering this myself and I think that would be the best course of action. The console forum doesn't have many threads and his trolling is very obvious in there since it's basically in every thread. Atleast in OT it moves much faster and the threads he ruins in there are not as noticeable.

If someone can't work out how to post within the written guidelines, just remove their posting privileges full stop. That goes for anybody.

I'll start with you. You just couldn't handle that I PROVED how much better your POS Halo2 is on PC vs. Xbox or Xbox 360 upgrade. You keep digging your hole by posting incessant mularky about girls being hot from far but ugly up close or something idiotic to that degree. And saying that crappy textures, lighting and resolutions make Halo2 for Xbox better . Just admit how much better it is for the PC, ok? Proof. If you can't tell the difference, I truely, truely pity you.

Upon return, the Moderators will be watching to determine if he understands the differences between attacking/defending the subject vs the poster.


blurredvision is also gone for a week for unprovoked (admitted) personal attack/baiting.
RagingBitch and purebeat have also committed the same transgression and are on the sidelines

I definitely agree there has been a significant downturn in number and quality of posts since he started trolling heavily.

It's not like OT where a single douchebag goes unnoticed amongst the hundreds of people. The number of active people in console gaming is actually pretty small, and theres just something about the way he posts that just brings the worst out of some people, myself included.

I don't think I've baited him, but at the very least Ive lost my good sense at times and stooped down to his level of nonsense. My bad. FWIW, I was quitting smoking during the time.

But yeah, glad the party's over for him (at least temporarily).

its probably because in every post he makes some comment about how superior some aspect of his life is to everyone else.

Yeah he sticks out like a sore thumb among some really standup members (queasy in particular) in console gaming and i really hope that he doesn't return to console gaming at least.
