Hi, I have had the Antec truepower 550w for over 2 years and it has served me really well..i tried the power supply calculator and showed i used around 530w on full load which is really close to its limit.
Was going to go for the 700w ocz gamexstream but i heard about the bad rippling..so looks like its down to the Corsair now..is it worth me spending more for the Corsair HX 620w or keep my Antec for now?

Cheers

I use both ocz and corsairs, and I never heard of the rippling effect. Both are rock solid stable and provide more than enough power for my setups.

If you can afford it, go for the corsair, you won't be disappointed.

Your system probably uses much less than 530W. Those wattage calculators ALWAYS overestimate, sometimes grossly.

If you want to know what you actually use, get something to measure power usage (I use a Seasonic Power Angel) and then multiply the wattage by .75 (for around 75% efficiency of your PSU) to get what your system actually uses.

The TP line sucks doesn't it? I heard all the bad things about the TP line's quality a little after I bought one myself unfortunately, and it died about a month ago, about 1.5 years since I bought it at the start of last year.

corsair is definitely better but if not upgrading the rest of the computer why not wait a bit and newer models will come along upgrade to newer ones when you rebuilding your rig for say a quad upgrade. of course HX 620 will be a sweet PSU however you look at it.

yep looks like i might wait a while longer...i suppose i still have some mileage left from my Antec..i've owned it for 2 and half years, mostly 24/7 usage too...probably change my mind for the 50th time this time next week though:);)

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

What if you get a Corsair and it fails...? Things happen, you know...

I've been using the TP 480 for ~3 years and TP Trio 650 for ~1 year.

Both work perfectly fine.

BTW, both Corsair and TP Trio series are built by Seasonic.
