What I do when that remote feeling begins to surface, I lay down a thick layer of self-hatred and then I forget all about it. I try not to let another person alter my feelings that much. In fact, I wrote a poem about this:

Being in love is nothing special,
---For me at least
A one-person charade,
Full of joy
And utter futility,
I take a needle
Thread it with reason,
And stitch my future crisis
Only to last another round,
With love, my forever traitor.

I like ur poem. It's very poignant for me somehow. I guess I like the repeated needle imagery and this is coming from a person who doesn't usually like poetry.

No, I just agree with him. Love isn't the only pleasure in life. I look at my sister who is hung up on love and she's very depressed. I don't know why I'm depressed but it's irrelevant.

You're a senior in HS. You haven't scratched the surface of being in a relationship or being in love. Everyone has felt that way in one point of their life or another. Once you grow older it all passes.

I was the hippi, yeah yeah, peace and love but it wasn't for those reasons, I just thought it was better than the default guy with a huge eye.

And Angrymarshmello, I know I've just had a few cases of puppy love but I can imagine the feeling. Sure it's wonderful but, in all honesty, not everyone gets to taste that sweetness, for one reason or the next. I've put it low on the list.
