i have had a copy of vista ultimate for a while now. i want to try out the family discount and get 2 Home premium for $50. back then many people were complaining about not getting valid keys from microsoft. is that problem resolved now. is it safe to try the offer

I've got Keys, but I haven't used them. I believe the offer expires at the end of June? If the Keys are bad, I'm sure that Microsoft will fix them.

I bought 2 on the family discount way back when I bought Ultimate. $50ea. I just got around to loading my HTPS and it activated no problem. I used the install with no key then upgrade after installed method to get away from HAVING to do an upgrade. No problem activating though.

I got the offer the day Vista came out.

Paid $50 for each copy of Home Premium and the keys I was sent didn't work.

It took MS a few days but they eventually sent me working keys.

I also did the DOUBLE INSTALL method and the keys activated just fine.

In fact, the only keys I have been able to activate without a double install are the ones used by Dell!

Yeah, $50 each for the family discount. Still a great deal even considering the price of OEM. It is an upgrade key but with the double install, it is the same as the full version and it is retail in case you ever ant to call Microsoft for help....not that you would ever want to.
