i go to umass and we don't have these problems, although i was temporarily booted off the network for "copyright violation". we have a system where somehow they can detect if your computer has a virus and they will temporarily disable your internet until you fix the problem. your internet access does suck, but I would try and make the letter a bit more proffesional sounding and concentrate on how it's affecting your education.

I have known deathbyaunts in person I have to say yes he does know how use ipconfig /release /renew. They issues he is having is completely weird and I have t agree that is one screwed up network over there.

1) I can pretty much guarantee that your Dean could not care less about your letter complaining about video games and IRC
2) There are more important things at college than the quality of the Internet... if it's that important, get yourself your own access. Also, get drunk. Immediately.
3) When you write a letter like that (in which you sound like a little kid complaining cuz somebody stole his popsicle), you won't get much respect. Even less when you lash back at everybody who gives you advice (given that their advice is the only help you're gonna get, see #1).
