Ok, so I have a chance to buy a mitsubishi 46" big screen model #wt-46805 for $400. Is it worth it?

Probably not worth it if it's standard def instead of ED or HD.

My brother sold his old Sony 55" for $250 before spending $5K on a new 61" Samsung 1080p DLP set.

Don't know if the person is a user or not etc., don't really care as long as the tv works and is in great shape, which it claims. The tv is HD.

Check it VERY carefully. It could have burn-in, a bad CRT, broken inputs, etc.
