Troubleshooting Checklist:

Driver settings
- Make sure 4.1 setting is enabled in Drivers
- Make sure volume on all speakers is set at a reasonable level
- Make sure none of the speakers is Muted

Hardware
- Make sure speaker plug is plugged into correct holes on soundcard; especially make sure you have not plugged it into the Microphone hole by mistake
- Make sure all other hook-ups in the speaker system are plugged in correctly and securely

Also, are you using 2 stereo outputs from the sound card or the SPDIF? If using the SPDIF, you need to tell the drivers to output digital only! This is very important, as it results in problems like you are having.

Go into the SB properties program and set it to run for 4 speakers instead of the default 2.
