Hauppauge WINTV-PVR-150 tv tuner card

I can't get mine to work in Windows Vista and it says on their website it supports it. I tried the drivers on their website but it doesn't see it in device manager at all.

my pvr-500mce (2 pvr150's on a board) was working ok in vista. in fact it installed natively. do you have access to windows update?

If it doesn't show up in the device manager chances are there is something physically wrong with the card.

If anybody is looking for a DTV tuner for Vista ,I''m using a Leadtek USB2 DTV tuner, link has a full range of Vista drivers x64/x68 and also works with Media Centre in HP and Ultimate editions.

nice, but you likely have pretty crazy cpu usage while watching tv, no?. generally best to get cards that decode hdtv in hardware, my tv650 gives me about a 15% load while watching high-def tv.

CPU usage is between 2-11% (5% average)as I type this and watch DTV movie.

Is it better than the Hauppauge WINTV-PVR-150 tv tuner card please?

Depends on what you mean by better and what you need the TV tuner for,I like leadtek since its USB 2.0 so easy to swap between my PCs(and portable for laptops etc...). plus full Vista support(well as XP).

It's all down to the features you need etc...

well then i guess you got the goods, cool man.

I got my PVR-250 to work. Different card with different drivers I know, but similar setup I believe. Vista Home Premium 32bit

Still haven't got it to work under windows vista. What should it say under hardware manager in windows vista with and without drivers installed ? I do remember having it work fine under windows xp.

Should I try installing windows xp on this same pc to see if it can work on it instead ? Like dual boot windows xp as well somehow or through vmware ?
