I've got a PVR-150 that I bought about a year ago and it's a total piece of garbage. Well, maybe the hardware is alright, but the software and their drivers are horrible.

What a waste of money.

they have always had good hardware and bad software, but if you use windows mce or sagetv or snapstream or media portal then you dont have to worry about their software).

I'll look at that media portal software. Doesn't change the fact that I've not once been able to properly install the drivers for this card.

Installing the drivers was easy for me. The removal of the drivers however is kind of unorthodox but works nonetheless. Wintv2000 is ok for just wanting to watch tv on the fly but is extremnly poor for a permanent solution. Beyond TV is great however especially when its free after rebate :p

Agreed. It's an unfortunate combination. The body of Jessica Alba with half of the mind of Paris Hilton.

I'm using a PVR-150 with SageTV - works great.

Meh, my PVR-150 works beautifully in my mythbox, though i suppose the linux drivers work pretty well for it.

Got a PVR150 and a HVR1600 working with BeyondTV and XP Pro without issues (so far) in my HTPC. Got a USB HVR950 for my laptop - no issues there either.
Hope ya get it sorted out.

Haha I was just trying to thinki what tv tuner or sound card does have good software. It's a shame because a lot of them really do make quality hardware

I still have a pretty foul taste in my mouth from the HDTV Wonder. It wouldn't have been so foul if there hadn't been a flurry of controversy from the MPAA and other groups about it. It led ATI to drag their feet over releasing drivers.

I haven't had any problems with the drivers for my PVR150s. They seem to be quite stable, at least under WinXP SP2.

I don't use their software, though... haven't heard much good about it. BeyondTV works well, and apparently so does Windows Media Center.
