Hauppauge HVR-2250 AV2 Not working

I was wondering if this bit of information I got from Hauppauge is correct as I think I should be able to view AV2 even when I am not recording with tuner 1

Here is what I wrote to Hauppauge

I have a HVR-2250 and I can't get the external AV2 ports to work with any device (All I get is a blue screen (WinTV V7) or a black screen (SageTV V7) and I can't hear the audio from the source either. So no picture and sound The AV1 Cable works fine and I even tried another device on the AV2 backplate

Here is what they replied with

[FONT=&quot]A/V 2 is only used when the first tuner is in use so if you have say 2 cable boxes connected then schedule two recording the first recording will record on a/v 1 the second on a/v 2. [/FONT]

What they told you is essentially correct. Tuners are used by priority. You can change that priority in 7MC but it doesn't really gain you anything.
