"Hatfields & McCoys" on History Channel

I thought it went slow at first... but since the History Channel kept playing it over and over last night I caught most of it at different parts at different airing times and now I am hooked!😛

All of the actors look too similar to me, I can never tell who is killing who until the accusations fly afterwards.

Series is heavy on the mccoys starting it.

Tom Beringer's character Jim Vance started it by killing the brother of Bill Paxton's character, Randall McCoy. (union soldier who insinuated that Jim Vance fucked his dog) It all went down hill from there.
YES, the McCoys kept pushing and pushing...and finally caused the whole thing to explode...but the first killing was done by a Hatfield.

I agree with those who have said it's a bit slow...but overall, it's not bad.

Nah, it was pretty clear that the Hatfields started it. Jim Vance murdered Randell McCoy's brother in cold blood when he returned from the war with a broken leg. He shot him because he fought with the Union.

And shortly after that, another Hatfield stole a pig from the McCoys, which would have fed their family through the winter.

Those two events are what really got the McCoys to their breaking point and then they started to retaliate against the Hatfields.

i meant egging it on.

Tonight's episode has so far been the best in the series.

Edit: Also for anyone interested in reading more about the feud, some good info and facts here:

As well as some actual pictures of many of those involved.

After reading that, it seems History channel did a nice job of portraying the actual events.

After watching the series I did some heavy research and the McCoy's weren't really fond of Randell's brother anyways because most of the McCoys sided with the Confederates during the war - so they accepted the fact that he brought it upon himself choosing to join the Union when everyone warned him not to. I find the series a bit bias leaning more on the McCoys when both sides did things to stoke the fire. Also, Rosanna McCoy in real life was a cradle robber, had gonorrhea, and everyone in tug valley knew she was an easy lay BEFORE she hooked up with Johnse...
