Pretty much all I use my wheelbarrow for is hauling dirt/mulch/gravel and mixing concrete.

None of those things would work in this. I use tarps to haul leaves around.

What else would you use it for?? I guess maybe firewood...

Cannot compare to wheel barrel.
but it's better than carrying by hand..

You could haul a barrel in your wheelBARROW...

Only someone who's never used a wheelbarrow would call that girly-thing a wheelbarrow.

Well..and the other thing is that you can't really put any meaningful amount into it. Half the utility of a wheel barrow is that it stands on it's own while you shovel/toss/pour/dump stuff into it. And it's effective carrying capacity remains unchanged.

With this, unless you have some sort of kickstand for it it's volume is non-existant unless you have two people...one to hold and one to fill it up.

That's a very important point. If I'm moving wood, dirt, rocks, etc., I should have to ask someone to hold the handles of the wheel barrow, which is what I'd have to do with the OP's "wheel barrow."

Also, contrary to the OP's recommendation, I didn't rent a cement truck when I put up my privacy fence :D.

actually, for the type of wheelbarrow work I most commonly do (organic material relocation, IE weed pulling) this would be pretty handy.

However, I wouldn't want to use it for any heavy duty work.

Nope, I use a real wheel barrel to bring in my wood for the winter. I can tell you this thing would be USELESS. The problem is that you have to bend all the way to the ground to put this thing down or you have to lift the load up to dump it. Either way it creates more work for you. With my REAL wheelbarrell, I fill it up with wood, take it to destination, set it down and pile my wood. No need to bend over again to pick up the wood

For picking up leaves, this thing lays flat on the ground so the capacity is limited. It might be good for very small loads if you like to make several trips.

This is an epic thread, thanks OP.

yeah dirt and gravel don't work in it...just falls out the bottom.

Fucking rednecks use a wheelbarrow to mix their concrete in. Rent a freaking mixer for a real pour.

Yippee Ki Aye!

The 'garage' here hurts my head too many times to bother.

I'm not a redneck. I have used a wheelbarrow to mix sackcrete.

However, in my day job overseeing commercial construction, it is quite common to use wheelbarrows to haul ready-mix. Just because you want to use this piece of crap to haul the 0.5cf bag of potting soil for your new geraniums doesn't mean it works for real men.

Cheers.

Naw.

That's my thoughts. If I have concrete poured, there is going to be a little team running shit all over the property.

If I want to carry sod, dirt, clippings, branches, etc this is more than adequate and maybe even better.

Only on AT will geeks do this crap.

Anyway, on the REAL garage type forums it's a pretty good hit.

Probably too expensive for most on the anti-side of this thread though. Fucking paupers.

Why would I buy something that is "more than adequate" and 4x the cost...but still less useful than the real thing? If you had a "real garage" you'd have room to store it.
