Hate to ask but I need some serious OC'rs help here

1x512 Patriot extreme perfomance DDR400 (was told this ram was good for Oc'n rated 400-533mhz on box, beggining to wonder)

My settings

Vcore 1.55 * 113% (1.67-1.71)
Vdimm 3.1
235 fsb 1:1 as of now and seems stable
37c-45 sometimes gets down to 32c when I crank fan full throttle and the room is cool

My problem
Guy who owned this previosuly said he got the chip to do 2.6 ghz on water
I cant get it to 240 fsb without it rebooting or locking up

Is my chip capped now or is there something I'm missing?
 
1) Try bumping the memory speed down and try and see if it goes higher

2)Make sure the HTT is at 4x or 3x

If none of those work

3)Maybe the guy lied to you and it really didn't go to 2.6

4) It seems like the max for the newer 3000+'s is 2.3-4. I know mine only hits 2.35 and another member has the same thing only hitting 2.35 and we both are using the same voltage as you
