What's this all about then?

BugMeNot.com was created as a mechanism to quickly bypass the login of web sites that require compulsory registration and/or the collection of personal/demographic information (such as the New York Times).

that's pretty cool... but where's this data coming from ?

Why don't you make site urls clickable?
It is better that BugMeNot.com doesn't show up in the referrer logs of the sites it provides accounts for.
Yikes... somethin's fishy.

People submit their registrations to whatever site and then BMN posts them for people to use. I used one today to log into AJC.com

They are just trying to avoid having the fake accounts disabled by the websites.

the NY times registration takes like 5 seconds, and you ddon't even have to provide real information!

Hopefully it works for the random forums that always get posted here - I hate having to register for those places just to see a funny picture/thread that somebody here links to.
