Evidently the four links were written for general public, and not for some hyper-sensible Intel enthusiasts...
Only your softpedia link mentions 'incompatible' but it seems to be sponsored by Enermax, and it's plain to see they benefit from exaggerating the issue. The others talk about a compatibility issue, which is exactly what's going on: not completely incompatible but also not fully compatible. But it seems a matter of definitions, I guess in some way you could call something incompatible if it's not completely compatible but you would be missing out a bunch of nuances.
What I don't really understand and as mentioned in this thread before, there's always some load on the 12V rail, even if it's just a couple fans. Else, somehow the cpu has to have its own dedicated circuit which can set off the UVP.
