Haswell rMBP temp sensor

I can't find a temperature monitor app that works on the Haswell rMBP.

sysctl -a doesn't have a cputemp entry, and ioreg output doesn't show me anything useful either. (Well, okay, I didnt read the whole things, I just searched for "temp" and "cpu" - there were no results for "temp" except the battery, and none of the lines that say "CPU" are what I'm looking for either.)

Anybody have an (OS X) temp monitor utility that works?

Oof. That is actually a kickass program. But it doesn't work on my laptop. (Doesn't recognize the temp sensors I guess.)

Pretty cool for everything else, though. Thanks.

I just got a rMBP 13" today, and purchased iStat Menus family pack (was messing with it on the Mac mini a while back). Not sure why it doesn't work for you, but it works out of the box for me - didn't do anything special.

Well that's embarrassing.

I downloaded the old 3.x version. It updated to 4.01 during the install, but I had to update it again to 4.21.

Thanks. This is probably worth paying for, but I'll milk it for 14 days. 🙂

Are you entirely sure that this is not an issue with the hardware of your laptop. Software usually work since temperature sensors are also interfaced with the bios of the system which means they don’t have to rely on device drivers in most of the cases. I hope it’s actually just a software issue though because replacing temperatures sensors is tough, not to mention impossible in some laptops.
