Haswell E (2014) how much memory?

Just curious, how much memory will be on the new mobos that support the Haswell E in 2014? I am aware it will be DDR4 just wondering how much memory will be supported. Will it be 64gb or perhaps greater than 64gb? I don't do much video editing but having as much memory as possible would be nice, especially for editing 4K material.

I'm sure you'll be able to run 64 GB. Samsung is coming out with 16 GB RDIMMs (registered, if your mobo supports that). I figure most consumer x99 motherboard will only have 4 slots (quad channel), but you should be able to find support for either other DDR4 variants (ECC, Registered, etc.) or more slots on Workstation motherboards.

Most of the X79 boards came with 8 slots, seems reasonable that Haswell-E would have a similar amount. But DDR4 is point to point not bus based so I don't know how many channels they are intending to put on it, if its like X79 then probably just 4 slots.

Im fine with my RIG ... I used 37GB ram on a project Im doing. RAM above 16GB. Best is 2x 8GB sticks .........

games and apps will never need more then 16GB. YOu got headroom with it too, which is neat.
