classic rock when i was young (i'd say till 12 years old), right around 12 i liked rap and r&b for a couple years, 13-18 modern rock/alternative rock for the most part, 18 - present (20) i basically listen to it all. Right now, i listen to a lot of Rap and Progressive Rock, everything else too (jazz, techno, classic rock, umm...you basically name it. even some country, but i'm not a fan...just enjoy it sometimes.)

I have always listened to metal, but my tastes are much more broad than they once were.

My crates run deep. I listen to everything but polka, country, charts (except a few groups) and "world" music. Been like that since I was a kid.

It's become more ecletic and inclusive if anything.

(I blame the internet for allowing me to be exposed to music I otherwise would not have heard...although all the CD's I've bought recently have been at shows, by bands who fall under the RIAA radar.)

haha i am glad that i am not the only one that hates 99% of RAP.

its so stupid... R&B on the other hand, is pretty cool at times...

This coming from someone who likes Blink 182.

It's expanded.

I used to be closed minded towards all rap and whatnot when i was kid and now I enjoy pretty much all types of music.

In middle school I listened to the Top 100 pop garbage mostly. I was also starting to pay attention to rock, metal and the growing grunge scene.
By high school I was solidly into metal, rock, grunge, alt rock, etc.
After high school I went to.... rap.... for a couple years. I know, I'm ashamed too. Although there is still some good hip hop our there that I listen to from time to time.
Present day it's the stuff I listened to in high school + a lot of older stuff. From The Who to Jethro Tull to Elton John to The Cars to Black Sabbath, etc.. Also a small bit of hip hop and the occasional new band. Most of it's garbage though and I avoid it like the plague.

Yes, certainly.

When I was young(8 - 16), I was into 60s and 70s music, oldies, classic rock.

Then I got into metal and never looked back. ;)

When I was a teenager it was Punk/hardcore as an adult I listened to more Classic rock. Since I quit smoking pot I?ve found myself listening to the same punk/hardcore I did when I was young. Maybe just nostalgia, don?t know.

No. My attention span has increased, though. I've been listening to albums the last few years that I couldn't before, because I'd get bored.

Musical tastes have expanded to the point where I like listeing to a bit of everything, but I love trance most of all, followed by rap and hip-hop and alt rock.

mine have definitely changed. I used to listen to nothing but oldies when I was young, then moved to pop/alternative, then back to oldies, then to rock, then to heavy metal, and right now I listen to an even mix of heavy metal, rock, oldies, country, classical and pretty much everything else except rap and techno (although I do listen to some rap)

i used to listen to punk and alternative and stuff. I like more of a classic rock sound, funk, jazz and downtempo stuff, but I like a lot of styles.

Yes, definitely.

Before I was 12 (and before I was exposed to the internet), I listened almost exclusively to classical, and the occasional "western" stuff that my dad loved (though I've always hated it). Then, I moved to classic rock, and on from there to the pseudo-punk crap (Stink 182, then Sum 41 for a short while - and yes, I'm very ashamed of that ). That was probably about at the age of 14. From there on to now (at 17), I had a resurgence of interest in classic rock (Boston, Floyd, etc.) and classical music (though mostly piano-related, especially Rachmaninov). I've also discovered Rush, Dream Theater, Stratovarius, etc. - basically various things from the prog rock and metal arenas. As always, though, I have an intense dislike for being forced to listen to rap, death metal (not that the musical talent of the artists sucks, but I'm not enthused for the lyrics), and country. I also prefer not to listen to some kinds of classical music that just as repetitive and boring as the pop music that the rock-is-evil crowd likes to bash.

Then punk
Then punk and some ska
Now punk, ska, and some oldies.

I've just added new kinds of music to my collection. The only thing I don't really listen to anymore is country.
