I used to be a big metal fan till I was 14 or so... then I moved towards Pink Floyd, Radiohead, etc... after listening to those for years, I am leaning towards post-Nirvana alternative bands ...

Has yours changed or stayed the same?

If yes, from what genre to what?

I went from the Nirvana days and that era to more hip hop rap when Dr. Dre and Snoop 1st came out, now I never listen to anything but Rock/Alternative again and still plenty of Nirvana.

Considering I only listened to the classics (Floyd, Stones, Doors, The Who, Eagles) until I was 12, I'd say yeah. :p

Still do, I just listen to more than that. :D

I got my first CD in 8th or 9th grade - Nirvana's Nevermind. Then I got into punk music.

I'm a junior in college and I still listen to Nirvana and punk all the time. I listen to a wider range of music now but my favorite is still what I first got into.

I've always listened to between 50-75% classical, and the rest a mix between groups like Delerium, Enigma, etc. I listen to very little of the pop tripe.

I've always listened to hard rock/heavy metal. I like all kinds of rock/metal music. I hate 99% of rap, death/black/doom metal and most country.

I listen to less rap (Dr. Dre/Tupac were my favorites). I listen to older stuff now: Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Alice in Chains.

Today, I'm going to this used CD store to look for some Black Label Society and Weird Al Yankovic stuff :)

The more I hear the crap playing on the radio these days, the more I appreciate the classic rock of the 70's and early 80's.

I'm so sick of Rap. Every time I turn on a MTV there's some shaggy lookin black dude with a doo rag, wearing a track suit, with gold medallions around his neck rapping about "da hood". It's getting sooooo old, and I want it to all go away - fast!

07-10 yrs old: Rap/R&B
10-13 yrs old: Alternative/grung rock
13-17 yrs old: Rap/R&B/Hip-hop
17-18 yrs old: Techno (trance, house, drum&bass)
18-present: Some combination of all of them. I'm listening to DJ Ferry Corstein right now. Earlier, I was listening to Disturbed and Linkin Park.

My taste in music changed quite frequently when I was younger. I think I have matured enough to be able to enjoy a number of genres at the same time.:)

actually i find myself listening to many of the bands (mostly early 90's alternative) i listened to in junior high and high school, but with a new appreciation for them. i'm realizing i didn't get the music at all the first time around. and i'm also listening to more classic rock and classical music. but i went through a period where i listened to nothing but emo and indie rock.

Certainly has expanded, but not really changed as I still listen to stuff I used to like. Past few years I've started liking classic rock more & more. I feel really sorry for people who watch phlegMTV and listen to 'rock' radio stations that play the same 3 songs over and over every day. I'll listen to just about everything except country; I really haven't come across any country music that I didn't passionately hate.

I find myself going back to my old music collection (old Blur, Nirvana, Pulp, early 90's music) all the time. Music today sucks the big one.

Growing up my parents made me listen to oldies and classic rock (which are both good), and as i grew up i started letting more and more rock in, then some hard rock.... Now, I basically like anything but most country/rap/hip hop.

I started out listening to Hendrix and The Doors. Later I got way into Dave Matthews Band. Now I'm getting more and more into hard rock, especially Clutch. But I don't think my taste has changed, it's just expanded. I still love Hendrix and The Doors.

Forgot to mention that I even started liking some country eventually. Especially Johnny Cash and Dwight Yoakam. James Brown got me liking funk. I've also grown to like some Jazz and some classical.
