Has UPS ever lost your package?

If so, how successful have they been in being able to find it?

My package has been out for delivery since yesterday morning and after speaking to UPS, they are tracing it and trying to find it.

they recently mis-delivered something from amazon. they said it was delivered to my front door, which never happens because if no one is home, UPS leaves the package at the apartment complex office. amazon overnighted another one, which actually arrived.

amazon = :thumbsup:

Never lost mine. But a few weeks ago they dropped off a package on my doorstep that should have been delivered to an address around the corner on another street. House numbers were the same but the street was wrong.

yes, once. they did a "search" for 1-2 weeks, emailed AND called with updates on what they are doing, and eventually decided that my package was officially lost. got reimbursed fully of course. lol, then i ordered the same thing again the next day and it came within 3 days (newegg).

I've had pretty good luck with UPS so far. In fact, I don't think any carrier has ever messed up any of my packages.

Had a camera from dell get 'delivered', but i never found it. Not sure if UPS stole it, lost it, or if a neighbor took it.

UPS lost four of my packages when I shipped most of my belongings home from college last year. Long story short, they had managed to switch the labels on four of my boxes with four other random boxes in their sorting facility that ended up getting shipped to my house instead. Naturally, since the labels were switched, the entire situation was a clusterfuck since the tracking numbers I was given did indeed match the four packages that were delivered. After about two weeks back and forth on the phone with UPS, talking with everyone from the driver that picked up my boxes to the manager at the sorting facility that processed them, UPS finally located all four in the original sorting facility. I was very lucky to see my belongings ever again.

I've had some that were misdelivered and had to wait a couple days for them to track them down.

I've also had some that were smashed beyond recognition before they were ninja delivered.

I lived on 93rd Place for a while. About 75% of my packages got delivered to the house at 93rd Street. Luckily they were nice people and brought everything over.

had an incident a couple years ago after buying something on ebay..

-seller dropped the item off at ups, apparently didn't pay enough
-ups sits on the item indefinitely until the seller finally returns and speaks to ups himself
-ups *finally* ships it, and on the day it's supposed to arrive, the status was changed to "turned away by receiver, package damaged" or something like that despite the fact that I never saw it
-package never makes it back to original seller (at least not that I heard)

never did find out what became of that, but the seller refunded my money.
