I'm on call for our data center ops group. Of course a major server had a hard drive fail overnight. Not a huge ordeal to fix but meant getting up early and going out.

But after today I'm off until the 2nd.

Management here, on call as well until Monday, gave most of the employees the week off. Running just a skeleton crew through New Years. Went out last night for some plumbing problems a client had. We will see how the day goes.

Shitty old setup from previous management that highlights their incompetence in building a data center. We're slowly but surely migrating into VMware but there's still legacy shit like this we have to deal with in the meantime.

I am on three weeks vacation being spent in a boring FREEZING cold area of the USA to be with my sister. Area sucks but is it better than work I wonder now? lol!
