Sure, sure, it has its uses, but in general, there are no truly dominant teams in the NFL anymore. Take any of the league's best now, Chiefs, Colts, Pat's, Eagles, Rams, whoever. Compare them to the dynasties of the past. The Cowboys. The 49'ers. The Rams. The Steelers. Its no contest, the old teams were much much better.

Thats actually one of the good things about the "CAP" it prevents dominance. This makes it more competitive and the games better. Baseball needs a cap badly, until then I will not watch and havent since the last strike.
 
I think it is a good thing, and I don't necessarily think those teams were better, its just that in today's game it is harder to keep those teams together - teams can quickly rebound or fall back to the pack now, which keeps things interesting from year to year....

Wanna predict the AL playoff teams next year? Hmm...how about the Yanks....see the difference!?
 
True, it takes away from the one-sided dominance and makes the league more dynamic, but it also prevents there from being any truly great teams.
