Has the Republican Party changed fundamentally?

techs

Lifer
With John McCain essentially changing his policies, at least publicly, to the Bush and neo-con values has the Republican party now become:
The party of huge deficits?
The party of aggressive wars?
The party of government for the corporations?
The party of police state control?
The party of unlimited illegal immigration?

No, just like the Democrats haven't fundamentally changed - you've just cherry picked a few things that are generic enough for you to fit them into your premise.

If these are "cherry picked" or not do you agree with them?

The party of huge deficits?
The party of aggressive wars?
The party of government for the corporations?
The party of police state control?
The party of unlimited illegal immigration?

What the hell is the point of arguing with something that generic? It's just another stupid thread by techs.

Everybody is stupid. Totally ignore the subject and the issues, great radical righty policy. 😕

I don't see the Democrats talking about ending the deficits.
The Democrats nearly all voted for the same war.
Both parties are guilty of this one.
Police state control? The only difference between the parties is HOW they try to control your life.
It was the Republicans that derailed the amnesty bill. Don't hear Obama or Hillary talking about ending illegal immigration, or am I missing it?

You're changing the direction of the question.

Answer the question specfifically to your righty position.

Yep.
Both sides of the aisle have run up huge deficits.
JFK and LBJ got us mired in SE Asia war.
Dems want to control life from cradle to grave.
Both sides are on both sides of immigration.

Conclusion: neither party has any values now.

Can a zebra change its stripes?

Can a leopard change its spots?

In short, no, it can't change.

It is in a state of deadlocked corporate economic entropy. Which is a semi-quantitative measure of the irrevocable dissipation and degradation of natural materials and available energy with respect to economic activity.

Now you understand why I am unhappy this November.

Democrats do not offer an alternative to those except for the war.

The liberal media would like you to think that...and yeah, GWB has more less destroyed the party...and a lot of people like me regret having voted for him.

He does not represent the Republican party I know.

The Republican Party speaks for itself by nominating Join McCain who is no different than having a third term with Bush.

I hate to burst your fragile bubble, but the Republikrauts you know never existed in the first place. All just magic smoke and mirrors. Vote for me on these important issues, so I can change my mind once I get elected. Happens over and over again.

I disagree, the GOP has fundamentally changed to the party of spend and borrow when Reagan hit office. GWB&co is more of the same with extra added bungled occupations.

I thought the GOP was supposed to stand for prudent spending, strong national defense, and competent management.

GWB does not even aim at those marks.

The liberal media?

Pffft.

One doesn't need to turn to "liberal media" to see what the Republican party has become. Just go to Youtube and search for Ron Paul, and you'll see how the Republican party has changed.

You 'the party of torture' as well. Sadly, McCain gave up his principles on this and flip flopped on the issue so now he's in lock step with the mainstream 'pro torture republicans'

And even that is questionable unfortunately.

The media is under no obligation to report on GTaudiophile's fantasy land of puppy dogs and unicorns. Whatever Republican party you'd like to think you could be a part of, the ACTUAL Republican party is perfectly represented by Bush and other people like him.

No surpise. Not one righty will answer the questions.

There is no reason to because they are not real questions. They are far too generic, plus even if answered, you leftists would twist it around to fit your preconceived notions anyway. So what is the purpose? Oh wait... it's a tech's thread... purpose found 😛

Both parties have fundamentally changed their position on all issues over time to garner more votes. Go read their platforms from @ 1900, a Democrat today was a GOP then and vice versa.

Correct, but I'm talking short term which is what is implied by the OP.
