Has the Gothic 3 expansion gotten any more playable?

I was trolling around looking for news about the upcoming 1.7 patch for Gothic 3 and I noticed that the patch #s for the add-on are up to 1.08.

has anyone played the expansion with the latest patch? Is it better (more playable) than previous versions?

Slightly. It's still a buggy mess though and should have never been released in the state it was in. They could release 5 more patches and it would probably remain unfinished still.

Like you, I am looking forward to patch 1.7 for G3. Looks like they've done some interesting things.

yeah - I can't wait. I abandoned a game of Gothic 3 I was really getting into just to wait for the new patch.

I installed the latest patch and game still has the random pauses now and then ,they can last from a second to 5 seconds plus,game was stable and I did manage to finish the game but its still has bugs etc..

It was released too early.

Not played F3 yet,Oblivion was good however so no complaints in that game.

Yes, if you're willing to tweak your system to get it to play decently. The addon (Forsaken Gods).. absolutely not

Gohtic 3 is definitely a fun game if you have a good enough system and tweak it a bit. It's a HUGE world full of cool places. I think the graphics are great if you can crank them up.

As I always say, though: you have to be able to put up with occcasional stutter. It seems to get less and less the longer your game goes.

The new patch is supposed to really put a dent in the stutter problem.

The gameworld and environments are superior to oblivion in every way. So much more ... interesting.
