Has the 760MP died or something?

Hey ppl,
Have I had my head under a rock too long, or haven't we heard much about the 760MP lately? Mid-2000 they were expecting a mid-Feb release, and that time is upon us. Do we have any definite dates here, or am I going to have to discard my 3GHz dreams? 🙁

No, it hasnt died, AMD just showed one to the public a few weeks ago.
I dont remember the date that its goign to be released
And YES you will have to discard your dreams of a 3GHz machine becuase 2 1.5GHz CPU's do not equal 3GHz.

SuperKen, I'm not THAT dumb - I know a dual processor system will never perform to the full combined clock speed, but a THEORETICAL 3GHz would be there.

Tyan will probably release its 760MP board in April. They are working side by side with AMD and have first stabs at releasing the first mutliprocessor motherboard for AMD. Expect Asus and Abit to do the same around summer time.. I did read in some archives that Supermicro will be getting into the AMD world as well. Future looks good.. But remember, MP standard for MULTIPROCESSOR, meaning DUALIES and QUADS and 8's.

yeah....april/may sounds about right for the first board(s). But I doubt you will be able to afford it. It will be a server oriented board (with SCSI and all that) so it'll cost ya a very pretty penny
