I only get tea there. 1 bag in a venti cup. $1.45 :)
It's a comfy place to study without distraction of my computer or TV.

drive thrus arent what sbux is suppose to be about.

it's about the "third place." home, work, sbux

there's talk about walk up sbux w/o the ability to walk inside. WTF?!

you just walk up to the window and order. then leave.

sbux is under severe stockholder pressure to get it's earnings (ie: stockprice) up.

it has sold out to the man. :(

LOL. Starbucks has been the man since they first started expanding hardcore.

If you want a good atmosphere at a coffee shop, go to a local place.

You want to support your local economy, buy local.

You're also more likely to get quality roast. Before coffeehouses popped up in every country town, this might not have been true. There probably wasn't a local place, but in most decently sized metro's you should have a couple of local places, and therefore better choices in all ways than teh starbucks.

They're expensive. The whole point of a franchise is to offer the same product at a lower price to take business away from the mom & pop stores. Though in this case the mom & pop stores offer a whole lot more, cheaper, and IMO taste a whole lot better.

We have three Starbucks, one Seattle's Best and four independent coffee shops on campus. I make it a point to buy coffee from the independent places.
