well i see some stuff for real cheap at ubid.com and was thinking - it cant be that hard to bid on something at ubid and then sell it on ebay for more.

of course ebay jacks you with pretty big fees but i imagine someone must have done it sucessfully.

I am guessing that buying stuff for low offa pricewatch.com and selling on ebay works as well...

so anyone out there make a living or some xtra cash offa the ebay herd mentality ?

😀

yes, just be very careful

all those fees add up

i calculated, and i spent almost 9% of each sale on fees

You also have to be very careful that you're actually buying low. When I'm looking to snipe some Kennedy halves, I always have the price lists open in another window. Even that is not enough, since there is such a variance in value among grading services. But, you CAN grab some bargains if you work at it.

Yeah, I quit college because I make so much money off ebay. What I did was buy that wholesaler list off Ebay and go to these auctions where I get decent stuff for really low prices, then I list them on ebay and make some good dough. You won't be making a six figure income, but you will make enough to have a good living. cheers! 🙂

Yeah...I've done it...There's a couple ways to make it work:

(1) Take small risks and then exploit them when they come out good.
-Buy something small from an overseas vendor. If he turns out okay, you can buy more and sell within the US at much less shipping
-Buy something small from someone who has awful-looking auctions and doesn't give payment or shipping details...if it works, then make a good-looking auction w/lots of details

(2) Buy in bulk
-Duh...this one's pretty straightforward...

Are you serious BOBBY RIBS? I never thought anyone actually got any use out of those wholesaler lists they keep selling on ebay. Selling stuff on ebay's gotta be better than a 9-5 job.
amazing 😀

alright time to hatch my money making scheme, er business model.

It takes a decent amount of work to make anything more than a decent amount on Ebay since people's tastes on there change so quick...if you see an idea, exploit it *as fast as you can*! Trust me on that one...it's meant the difference between making $5000 or so and $1500 in one deal 🙁

And watch out...Ebay isn't gonna last forever :Q

If you're in school/have a real job, I'd suggest getting a partner you can trust who also happens to be motivated...That way, when there are days when you have to really focus on school/work, your partner can pick up your slack and vice-versa

Best of luck to you 🙂
