Exactly what flavor is the Koolaid?
Or color of the sky in his world? Reality is proving to not be a good subject with bshole.
Exactly what flavor is the Koolaid?
You seem to forget President Bush led this nation through a rough time after the 9/11 attacks.
It is not fair to say Bush had more executive orders when we had experienced the largest terrorist attack this nation had ever seen.
If you want to go in and remove all of the executive orders issued by Bush that were related to 9/11, then do that and lets discuss total nubmers.
Putin found a diplomatic solution that prevented armed conflict...please don't revise history.
Say what you will, OBAMA ran with the solution. Any Republican president would have had America neck deep in blood and guts in Syria. You know that and I know that. Obama's presidency has saved thousands of American lives. Sadly he will never get the credit he rightfully deseves for it.
And he would have bombed them if public opinion hadn't been so strongly against it. The whole thing was an incompetent cluster fuck imo.The Peace Prize winner was ready to bomb them into oblivion. Well...with a pin prick. But not a small pin prick. He was definitely going to use the full might of the US military. But on a small scale.
Yep. I am at least. So in reality you're highlighting Putin's leadership with your praise of Obama following it.
Yep. I am at least.
Look at how Congress reacted to Syria and tell me that Obama could work with the Republicans in Congress. That's the only time I've every seen Congresscritters do a complete 360 on an issue in a matter of weeks.
Republicans wanted Obama to invade Syria, show Syria who's boss, etc. Then after Syria crossed the line in the sand and it looked like Obama would actually put troops in the ground all the Republicans lost their nerve! Obama shouldn't put us in an unwinnable war, yadda yadda yadda (despite arguing for this action just a few weeks prior). So Obama found a diplomatic solution that prevented armed conflict, and those same congresscritters who now wanted a diplomatic solution now attack Obama for not invading Syria.
Whatever position Obama is in, Republicans make certain they're in the opposite side.
Comparing Putin's leadership to Obama's is silly. Putin can act in any way he chooses as he is an oppressive dictator. Had the roles been reversed, Putin simply would have bombed Syria as he has no one to answer to.
One of the largest obstacles to a better resolution in Syria has been the atrocious behavior of Russia and China. To credit Putin with 'leadership' for defusing a situation that he has greatly contributed to is kind of like congratulating a fireman for putting out a fire he helped start.
Obama's decision to draw 'red lines' he was unwilling to enforce was foolish, one of the dumbest foreign policy actions of his presidency. That doesn't mean Putin didn't act like garbage as well. I do find it funny how conservatives go from hating on Putin to loving him based on if they think he's against Obama though.
When did Republicans want to invade Syria? And even if they did, congress did what they should have done and represented the peoples wishes. Obama drew the line in the sand, then had his bluff called. Obama's diplomatic solution was a foot-in-mouth moment by Kerry that Russia ran with.
It is not a case of Putin puppy love. No one in their right mind could respect Putin. The thing is that Obama's diplomatic interactions with Putin just reinforced the view that Obama is incapable of leading a world power.
These threads are always weird.
You have on one hand the people who don't like what Obama is doing...
And on the other side the people who don't like when Bush did the same thing...
Instead of being united on common ground, all you twerps want to do is bicker and put down each other.
That's why politicians get to go on their merry way doing whatever they please and not answering to the general populace.
"I hate everything Obama does"
"I hate everything Bush did"
"I hate people who hate everything Obama does, even though I hated everything Bush did"
"I hate people who hate everything Bush did, even though Obama is doing the things Bush did that I hated"

You asshole, you manipulate everything in your mind to make it fit what you see. Stop being a fucking pig and try being objective. You have been told by person after person on this forum that you are a titanic moron but your real problem is that you are proud of your arrogant stupidity. You see value in the wrong way. You put your money on the pig instead of the horse.
Let's get some facts straight...I don't love Putin....he's a despicable human being. I'm just thankful that he came to the table and helped defuse this particular situation....I never said or implied anything beyond that. If anything is silly it's you extrapolating well beyond what I said and spinning my words so dishonestly.Comparing Putin's leadership to Obama's is silly. This is a strange idea. Obama has had one of the most successful foreign policy tenures of any recent president; the only more successful one I can think of is GHWB. It's especially strange when you look at how much more successful he has been than the supposed foreign policy 'experts' from the previous administration.
There's a reason why the foreign policy community thinks so highly of him.
I think this post exemplifies the issue Obama has working with Republicans. Matt agree's with Obama's solution of no armed conflict in Syria, but refuses to give Obama any credit and is angry at Obama because... Matt got the solution he wanted? No armed conflict?
Look at the people who still refuse to give Obama any credit regarding the capture of Osama Bin Laden for another example of this. Or the people angry at Michelle Obama because she suggests that Kids should drink more water. Look at how popular Kynect, the Obamacare exchange in Kentucky is, and ask the very same people who love Kynect their opinions on Obamacare. How can Obamacare do so poorly in Kentucy while Kynect do so well when they're the same thing?
Look at the Republicans who LOST THEIR PARTIE's NOMINATION because they had pictures taken of them with Obama! Crist blames the end of his Republican Political Career to a picture of him hugging Obama.
Ask yourself if there is anything, anything at all Obama can do to win these people? Republicans have been trying to pass Immigration Reform for the past couple of election cycles, as soon as Obama gives his approval for it instead of trying to work with him, they distance themselves as much as possible, and squelch their own versions of Immigration Reform. In a few weeks Republicans in the house are going to try and pass their own No-Obama Immigration Reform bill, that they've made certain everyone knows has nothing to do with Obama what-so-ever.

It would be nice to unite on common ground but what common ground would that be. One party has retreated to a delusional reality in order to block the other. There are two parties. One that can be persuaded by reason and logic and one that cannot. Until that defect is remedied there will be no hope for anybody. Obama is the anti-Christ to white fundamentalist bigots. He touches them in the right amygdala and they run screaming in terror. How do you lead a nation full of screaming hysterical women? What common ground with madness would you suggest?
