Yeah. Thinking is hard. You should probably stick to shows you can more easily understand like The Gilmore Girls, Hope and Faith, and Sesame Street.

Oh, come on, Cougar is so 1983. He is now just John Melloncamp, and it really does hurt so good.

I like how there isn't a single post in this thread that has anything to do with the OP.

And jumptheshark.com does mention Fonzie, and I've never heard anyone use the phrase incorrectly...

What's wrong with plotlines not leading to the same path ? Shows do this all the time to keep you guessing... for example in 24... they have someone get fired and you always wonder if they'll come back and work against them. Even though it never happens (they never did come back), you are always wondering. It makes the show less linear and keeps suspense.

Some people seem to forget tv/movies are about entertaining. Not everything has to be some great big revelation. Lost is billed to be mysterious and obviously suspenseful and that's all. If that's not enough for you, that's understandable, but IT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S A BIG SHAM and you don't need to CAPITALIZE WORDS as if it were a big plothole that makes the show unwatchable for anyone who wants to exercise their imagination.

And by the way, questions ARE being answered... albeit slowly. He's not going to blow his load in 1 season.

You know what really pisses me off, is when a thread goes off on a completely different subject matter than originally started.

Eh, they're all using it to mean the same thing, just not in reference to a TV show. I'm sure they realize that the term refers to TV shows, but there's no harm in applying it to other things I think. :)

Uh oh, now I think you just jumped the shark.

In any case, I need to jump the shark and get some work done. But not before I go to the bathroom cause my bladder is about the jump the shark.

Who, besides me, gets angry when they hear the phrase "jump the shark"? For some reason this statement makes me angry.

Ironically, I also hate that phrase because 90% of the people who use it don't even know WTF it comes from and use it improperly to try to sound all elitist and cool.

Well, although I could care less, I would at least like to know how such a stupid ass phrase came into being since it makes me angry. At least let me understand the root of my frustration. Once properly educated, I may write my manifesto. I think I'll title it:

How "Fvck off and die" jumped the shark: A story of verbal hell. :D

Who besides me, gets angry when they hear someone say "I could care less" when they really mean "I couldn't care less"? For some reason incorrect use of idioms makes me angry.

I hate people who think that someone means something relating to a statement they feel is more appropriate when the person who typed it typed what he meant.

Fact is, I could care less (as in I do care, but it could be less if I didn't post), but I care enough to post in this thread about it. If I were incapable of caring about it, I wouldn't spend the time to post. So I think my verbiage is more appropriate, all things considered. :D
