Who gave Kerry the authority to engage in stealth diplomacy in regards to the Iran deal? Nobody, that's who. In question is what should be done about it. Why has it been allowed to go on this long?

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/co...hn_kerry_s_collusion_needs_to_be_investigated

"If special counsel Bob Mueller is truly interested in investigating people who are colluding with nefarious foreign powers to undermine U.S. interests, John Kerry should be Target No. 1 for secretly meeting with Iran’s foreign minister, Javad Zarif, and other foreign officials in recent weeks to usurp U.S foreign policy.

It’s a role that as a private citizen, Kerry has no mandate or authority to pursue.

The Boston Globe reported Friday that Kerry has been engaging in stealth diplomacy, secretly meeting with high-ranking officials including in Germany, France and the Islamic State to salvage the contentious Iran nuclear deal he orchestrated during the Obama administration."

I'm smelling a theme with your latest posts. Feeling Trump scandal fatigue. Not sane people's fault you supported for a scumbag.

He and Obama both. It makes me wonder what their true missions are. Seems both B.O. and "ketchup" Kerry are working an angle out there, who knows why. I won't don a tin foil hat just yet, but this seems weird.

BTW - pulled this excerpt from the Logan Act
The Logan Act (1 Stat. 613, 18 U.S.C. § 953, enacted January 30, 1799) is a United States federal law that criminalizes negotiation by unauthorized persons with foreign governments having a dispute with the United States. The intent behind the Act is to prevent unauthorized negotiations from undermining the government's position.

The JCPOA is the current position of the United States so how is Kerry undermining the governments position? Also Iran and the other signators do not have a dispute with the current position of United States so your argument falls flat twice.

The year is 2021. A Democrat has been elected President in the wake of a House victory in 2018, finally bringing back competent, educated leadership in the US. Trump remains on trial for obstruction of justice and violating federal election law. Most of his former campaign and administration members are either behind bars, under active investigation or have quit in disgrace.

Boomerang is still trying to distract from the Trump administration's gross corruption by dwelling on questionable-but-not-really-illegal things that happened years ago.

The Logan Act is stupid and probably unconstitutional. That being said Kerry is being an idiot in several different ways; practicing unauthorized "diplomacy" without actual diplomatic protections in a nation where rule of law is optional - he might as well shouted "hey y'all watch this and hold my beer" before making the trip.

It should be called the Lame Act. The last indictment under it was back in 1852. Seems like it doesn't have teeth anyway.

The bigger issue is of course that we have a civilian negotiating on his own with no governmental mandate to do so. Who should be talking with Iran, our elected government or some washed up has been? I don't care if he's prosecuted or not, but he needs to be grounded.

Quoted because you're stating "years ago". You had a choice whether to put your ignorance on display in this thread.

The distraction narrative that you and Amused are regurgitating is juvenile but expected.

Keep dreaming, Democrats had that majority and the presidency in 2009. What happened? Obama protected torturers and war criminals from the Bush administration.

Again, Kerry is talking to people who do not have a dispute with the current policy of the US. Also he is not advocating against current US policy so your premise is total bullshit.

I think the simplest answer is the correct answer. That being that 0bama's legacy has been pretty much wholly decimated and rightly so. Kerry inserting his nose where it doesn't belong is just an attempt to retain one aspect of that legacy.

Meanwhile the Trump legacy of being the most corrupt administration in history which he has already achieved is underway. Great job for only 14 months. He will have amassed such a lead over everyone else it will be one of those records never again to be broken.

In 2021, it will have been years ago. And you still obsess over Clinton as if she was the one elected President, so you clearly have a longstanding history of dwelling on the past to deflect from the corruption of the present.

Sure take him to court, find him guilty and lock him up.
I’m sick & tired of you all wrapping yourselves in the flag and acting all law and order like.
Then your boys literally do nothing, nothing at all.
I’m still waiting for Hillary to be charged for:
Unanium One
That pizza place
The Clinton Foundation
Various tax schemes
BENGHAZI!!!!
Plus the collision with Russia to lose the election

No excuses your boys control the House, the Senate, the White House, the VP, the justice department and many State Attoney Generals. Plus a bunch of vacant Judge positions have been filled by your boys.
I’m tired of the talk I want action

You're so cute when you're being so completely pedantic.
This is what you get from righties. They won't debate on fact. Truth does not matter.

Simple question should illicit simple answer but DSF knows where this is going and it would prove my point so he just bails.

Fine, take your marbles and leave.

Seems like an important element of the statute. If you can't answer the question then just be honest and say so. But your previous assertion was certain that specific section was being violated so I thought for sure you would have all the details readily available.

I'm just talking about baseline competency. Accepting the reality of climate science. Appointing administration officials who actually have experience relevant to the department they're running, and aren't there to destroy the department from within. Regulators who are actually there to regulate rather than currying favors for the companies they're supposed to oversee. And of course, a President who isn't egocentric and a pathological liar.
