There are a lot of teen and pre-teen kiddies on ATOT who like to criticize the older generations? They don't seem to like the way the oldsters walk, talk, drive or communicate on the internet.

These teenyboppers, who have never had to survive on their own are quick to point out the foibles of their seniors, but seldom, if ever, do they look at their peers who cause most of the traffic accidents, exhibit lack self esteem, or take responsibility for their actions.

Nobody wants to get old, but it happens to everybody except those who fall prey to Darwin's Theory. Think about it, those 'old' people managed to survive in times much more difficult than yours and, yet, they endevour to keep up with technology.

Will you survive the travails life puts in your path and, if so, will you still have the gumption to stay active and up to date with what is happening in the kiddies' world?

I'm just throwing this out there for you to chew on. You kiddies aren't all that compared to the seniors you make fun of.

What? I want to get old; I want to sit around in a nursing home all day and trip people with my cane, fake senility, and eat cheap jell-o all day long, what's not to like?

Oh you're a real highroller aren't you? Why in my day we walked barefoot up briar-covered trails to get twigs for our old men to eat, and they LIKED it!

Nothing worse than old people complaining about young people, or young people complaining about old people.

The only people that I know are old on these forums are oldsmoboat, because his name has old in it, and BoomerD, because the D stands for dementia. And maybe Red Dawn. Old people always talk about dawn.

Too bad he committed suicide the other day rather than serve his prison sentence.
I'll bet he'd have made a good "Yard Boss." :D

I don't mind criticism from prior generations too much, though I usually find it a little bit overblown.

The only critique I inevitably respond to is along the lines of, "Young people are going to destroy the world!" From the generation that brought us the top-shelf idiocy of the Cold War that's a little rich for my tastes.

Like the time I caught the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for m'shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt. Which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Gimme five bees for a quarter, you'd say. Now where was I... oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Well played.

The interesting thing about being my 30's is that I can feel the same way about both young and old people. It's one of the few points in ones life where they can halve their age or double their age and be completely out of touch with either side.

Stagflation was a great for jobs. Nothing like a stagnating economy combined with rapidly rising prices to make life a breeze. Looking forward to that made college graduation day such a joy. :roll:
