Who cares?
Hotmail doens't work anymore.
Messages are constantly delayed up to a few days.
Sometimes things don't get sent at all and sometimes you don't receive things at all.
This service is useless and doens't work.
What difference does spam filtering make?

This isn't true for me at all. What's your destination - is it always the same place ? Quite a lot of people would be pissed off if Hotmail stopped working. Does it work if you send yourself emails - should be instantaneous. I'm smelling a true hater here.

it doens't work half the time when I send to other hotmail users, people with thier own domains...sometimes I cna't even send my hotmail account things with my @rogers.com account.
I'm sorry, but this crap doesn't work anymore.
Sometimes I'll send an email, assuming the person got it - again, sometimes with an @hotmail.com account aswell and days later I'll get a little note saying the delivery has been delayed. Then they NEVER get it.
It's not just me either. When I wanted to send pics of the new house to my mother's hotmail account (from my pop3) so she could show it to her friends whom she was visiting, it wouldn't go through. So she calls and I do a hotmail->hotmail send. Still doesn't work. I have to send from my pop3 to their pop3 to get it to work.
I'm sorry but Hotmail doens't work anymore around here. Hasn't for months. Period.
Also, I can be having a conversation through email with my buddy in nova scotia (really far away) and I'll be using pop3 and he'll have his crappy hotmail. So we have our conversation and everything is fine. Then I hear from him DAYS later saying that he just got messages which were obviously from that convo but they were delayed for days for no reason!
Similarly, I forwarded something to my pop3 account and my hotmail account at the same time. It came through instantaneously on the domain but arrived with hotmail 5 hours later.
P.O.S.

Period or not, there has to be a root cause on your end otherwise there'd be message boards filled with reports of this. It's not just an "around here" type of deal. Perhaps the recipient's hotmail account is already at capacity - which has been known to happen and they no longer are allowed to receive emails. That's just one possibility.

If you choose to hate MS/MSN/Hotmail, that's fine, but saying a global web application doesn't work anymore "around here" is ludicrous. It's not the app itself that's a problem obviously. What app are you using to send/receive POP3/Hotmail ?

Nope. Sorry. I just explained how it happens with me, my father, my mother, my friend in Nova Scotia.
Multiple computers. Multiple connections, multiple people.
No accounts are full.
The service is just shoddy.
This is not isolated.
This service sucks. If you think it's good, you suck. "period" 😛

Is it OE6 ? If not, how did you actually configure POP3 to use with Hotmail ? That would be a first for me.
