Has anyone watched the series Roughnecks:The Starship Troopers Chronicles?

Is it worth renting?

I never heard of it till I saw it on Netflix.

Starship Troopers 1 was barely passable as a movie. Starship Troopers 2 was terrible. It's like they told them to make the same crappy movie with only 1/4 of the budget, so everything looks like crap. I can't imagine this series is any good.

It is a CGI animated series. I remember watching it briefly when it was on TV. I didn't have a DVR at the time and kept missing episodes so it was hard to get a feel for the series. It seemed alright though. A Netflix rental is at least worth a try.

The series consists of horrid voice acting and babylon 5 quality CG. I would only recommend it if you read the book because its closer to that

I loved that series. As others have mentioned, it's CGI. I bought them all on DVD. I also loved the first Starship Troopers movie. Did not like Starship Troopers 2.

I liked it. I think I saw the first two campaigns, and have been meaning to watch the rest. The CGI isn't top notch, but it's ok. It's based loosely on the characters from the first movie (not the book). Don't expect anything in-depth. Just plain fun bug-killing action.

I downloaded it using torrent and my roommate and I watched it last year when we were bored. I'm not gonna say that it was great, but it was a decent series. Just keep in mind that it was made for kids

The best part of Starship troopers 1 was when the injured black guy with the nuke went on a rampage. "YOU LIKE THAT? LIKE THAT? YOU LIKE THAT?" classic shit you would see in FPS games.

Agreed, though the reporter (the name escapes me at the moment) does offer some depth at times. My only real disappointment is that Sony screwed over the animation house right near the end, the final chapter was never finished and instead we got a cliffhanger and then 4 clip shows.

I REALLY liked the first movie, more than most movies I've seen in a long time. I still love it. I really liked the animated series, too. The CGI is incredible. It's almost as good as the Final Fantasy movies as far as CGI quality goes. I didn't even bother with the sequel movie and I intend on continuing not to bother. I don't want it ruined.

Yes, the animated series is worth renting.
