they NEED to fix their slow download speeds...otherwise this WOULD be the best client. As long as they have those cr@ppy d/l speeds i will have to stick with ABC.

Top right side of the screen. Defaults to mininova

BTW anyone notice that suprnova is back? coughNewnova.orgcough

I like Utorrent in principle but in practice Bitcomet is just much faster in my experience. Maybe once they work the bugs out this will change.

mininova.org sucks
meganova.org sucks
novatina.com sucks
They are so cheesy, you can only find dead or crappy torrent there. 🙁

Actually I just found Mininova to be a very good site. I couldn't find an older file from Torrentspy, but it was actually there on Mininova. (Then again, maybe I should be using Isohunt rather than Torrentspy)

Slow? I have maxed my connection with utorrent many times. My max connection is set to 2000. Works great!

just found out from a spy that told me Az doesn't work with it anymore... 🙁

any other sources out there other than my spy?

EDIT: Nevermind, I fixed it.🙂

I just made the switch from Azereus to this client. It's clean, fast and small. Just how I like it. And it is is FULL FEATURED!!!
I'm going to give this a try today, I've been using Bittornado since the dawn of time (and I love it) but I'm looking for an alternative.

Anyone with the latest v1.3 having problems with the Files tab (once you have a torrent highlighted). For torrents that contain multiple files within the download, I'm seeing a weird column issue... all I see is the filename with no other details, repeated across the columns for as many files as there are supposed to be.

I was using uTorrent for a while, but I kept getting DL errors - something about the DL being cancelled because the file was in use. I finally gave up on it.

I get that on the rare occasion. I just hit start again for that torrent and it's fine. Doesn't happen often enough for it to be a concern.

I tried that, but it wouldn't work. I found it happened more often than not.

I normally used Bittornado which may be old but utorrent is so much faster. I typically download TV shows that I cannot watch myself and every download completed in a few hours tops, opposed to a a couple of days with bittornado.

The only problem is that it seems to only seed the file it is downloading and only seeds to the share ratio. I can set my uploads higher with just one client and it gets to the share ration much faster but then it stops seeding that one.

I finally tried it...I'm not getting great speeds, can you guys share your settings?

also do you encrypt your protocols?

my ports are all open, so BT can have the "best" speeds. i set mine to 10mbps because its the closest for my comcast speeds. but then i manually turn down the uploading speed because it kills my surfing speed like hell.

btw, what is a good uploading speed to set it to? i have it set to 30kb/s.

I'm sold on it. Bye bye Azureus. No problem with the speeds, maxing out my pipe 😀 Although it does use 13MB of RAM at the moment.

I'll try this when I get home.

I couldn't get any BT client to work for a long time, but I finally got it working.. except I'm using azureus, and it's a resource hog.

Do you have to use a static ip address? and if so why? I am using uTorrent right now and I am getting some downloads, but they are not as fast a download than one of my friends, could that be why or is it just the fact that i am wireless and a good distance from the wireless modem?
