I was thinking about signing up for the 14.95 unlimited download thing. How is the contect when it comes to some of the less than mainstream stuff (I like a lot of punk/ska type music) things like Pennywise, MxPx, Voodoo Glowskulls, Rise Against, Dropkick Murphy's, etc...

Thanks!
JR..

I'm doing the free trial right now. Its ok, I don't really like the application though. I'll probably cancel it and try Rhapsody's free trial after this one. Its free, might as well shop around.

Are you doing the regular Napster, or the Napster to Go? I don't care about DRM so much just as long as I can load it up on my MP3 Player and go.

I just don't want my ass handed to me by the RIAA so I'm thinking of going legit.

NTG

I had to update my player to make the napster application work with it (sansa e260) and it screwed up the player's memory, I had to manually reformat it before it would work. Going smoothly since then though.

I've had regular Napster for over a year and am happy with it. I've saved a good bit of money from only buying CDs that I like enough to want in lossless format. It's also nice to be able to try full albums from random artists I hear about instead of 30 second lofi clips.

My brother has NTGo and a Sansa, he didn't need to update it to work with ToGo. From what he said that model does have 2 modes (flash drive vs. media player) and he just switched it to the media player mode.

I'll probably be upgrading to the To Go version soon myself, once the Sansa I just ordered arrives from Amazon.

Last I checked Amazon charged you for each song. With Napster you pay $10/month (or $15 for portable use) and you can download 10,000 songs a month if you feel like it. Unlimited rentals.

If I like something enough to want it forever, I buy a CD so I can rip it as lossless FLAC.

I've got a Rhapsody subscription that I use my Sansa. I love the service, hate the app. It's just a buggy, clunky, unreliable piece of crap that has non-stop issues connecting and staying connected.

But, when it does work, and you can get tracks transferred over to your player it's great. The music catalog is incredible, and the playlist sharing is great. Plus it lets me upload to by my player and my wife's. So that's a nice bonus.
