Has anyone tried an NV5 on their Leadtek 6800 GT?

Anyone had any success with an Arctic Cooler NV5 on their leadtek 6800GT?

Is that the adapter add-on for the card?

Dont have one, but i read it only gives about a 5 degree boost

Not worth it. in my opinion...

I have one on my BFG 6800 GT. The hardest part about installation is removing the old heatsink assembly. Putting on the NVSilencer is very simple. Way simpler that installing one of the Zalman heatpipe thingies.

And you're right, the benefit is not necessarily lower temps, but almost complete lack of noise.

Exactly. That's why it's called a "NV Silencer".

Yeah, I installed one on my leadtek
Lowered the temp, and the noise - but there was awful bearing noise still, so i ripped it off an installed a zalman vf700 - much better buy - lower temps, quieter, etc

Will the NV5 even work on the Leadtek? Because of the 2 slot metal bracket....

If it does, let us know, I might be in the market for a similar mod.

Rev 2 of the NV5 comes with the extra( replacement) backplate, gotta watch, some vndrs don't differentiate but I believe SVC has the rev 2.

the leadtek 6800gt is a one slot.... it takes up two really, but the I/o plate is only one, only the leadtek ultra has a 2 i/o slot
