You DO have a drinking problem

I don't think you're an alcoholic.

Obviously you are able to control your drinking when you are required to; work functions. I have been where you are. I almost flunked out of college as a result of it. One day I woke up and realized that I was screwing up my life and decided to take control of it. You need to try this. As some other folks have suggested, Only drink beer when you go out on the weekend and set a max before you go. Then stick to your max. Commit to having only 5 beers that night, or whatever # allows you to have fun but still stay in control.

If you can't keep your commitment, then you're an alcoholic.

P.S. I pray to God that you are not driving yourself home during these blackout sessions.

Are you driving?

No way. Never. Driving drunk is something so heinous and bruned into my mind that I *know* that even during a black out that I wouldn't. In fact, I refused to drive during a blackout once - I didn't remember but my friend told me.

I'll write more of a response in a bit, but I wanted this to be known now.

I suppose I should have mentioned in my previous post with this link to an alcoholism test, on which i scored a 5 out of 30 (where 30 is raging alcoholic), that I put in 8 days per month not drinking, 5 days 1-2 drinks, 5 days 3-4 drinks, and 12 days more than 4 drinks. if I can drink that much that often and be considered on the low end of low dependence, i think you're fine.

Do the test again, only this time answer all the questions completely honestly.

Nope, I'm not a drinker. When I choose to drink, I don't have a problem with controlling myself.
