Has anyone seen Open Waters??

A co-worker said it was pretty decent. I don't think its a very realistic scenario though, divers wouldn't be left behind like that.

It was based on a true story... They never found the divers...

Except it happened. THe movie is based on a true story in that a couple DID get left behind and nobody ever saw them again.

i liked the idea, didnt really like the movie

wasnt really realistic (not that they got left, but what happened the rest of the time)

and i hate "based on true story" when only the first 5 minutes of the movie is based on reality

Well, not exactly the best movie ever but I don't regret watching it.

Quick question:

What was up with the nudity? I'm not complaining by any means, were they just looking for a way to bump it up to R or something though?

In order for divers to get left behind when the boat moves on, multiple safety regs would have to be violated. The head count is the most failable, but the radio transmitters required in the diving gear would lead search and rescue right to them. Dye packs are usually standard issue as well, if I'm not mistaken.

I didn't like it...an hour and a half of watching people float in the water didn't do it for me.

Now how much of it could it be a true story if both of the people in the story die? 🙂

Radio transmitters and dye packs??

Where do you scuba dive😕

just suspenseful enough ... watch it once...

and yeah the b00bie shot before they even hit the water was totally thrown in there for good measure.

well I finally saw it and thought it was pretty bad. only 80 minutes and even that was too long. it reeked of amateurness with excessive extreme closeups, and the acting was something out of a freedomsbeat short. does a light switch in the bedroom the size of my tv screen really add anything to the storytelling? the "darkness" during the thunderstorm was crap. once again I rooted for the sharks.
