Has anyone replaced an iPhone 5 screen?

from the research i did, cause my wife's is cracked, when you replace the screen you also have to replace the touch part of it under. like it's not just the glass. and the cheapest i saw those parts was like around $130 or so.

my brother got his ip4 screen replaced for like $100 from someone local so i'm not sure if the ip5 would cost more, but i'd probably just pay someone to fix it for me who knows what they are doing

Maybe your phone just needs a new battery. That's a $15 fix vs almost $200. If you're going the direct swap route, what you need is a Phillips #00 screw driver, any old small suction cup, spudger, and a pentalobe screw driver. iFixit sells the tools. I've also dealt with these guys. Some of their stuff is cheaper but still good quality OEM parts.

Fortunately Apple still makes the iPhone fairly easy to repair.

Why not just take your non-charging phone into an apple store? They've never charged me for iPhone repairs, and yours could be a very simple fix

Ifixit is great, but their parts prices are quite high. I think the fan for my MacBook Pro was something like $50 plus shipping, so I just ordered one off eBay for $12.
