Has anyone recently (post 911) taken a PC on a plane?

I need to take a PC on a plane with me next Wednesday, shipping is not an option. I have found the dimensions for carry on luggage and my case will meet the specs (Cannot exceed 45 linear inches (9 inches by 14 inches by 22 inches) ). I am going to use something similiar to this:
Link.

Thanks for any advice or thoughts.

bring lube.

That is already packed next to my razors, opened bottle of water, and scissors.

I'd expect that TSA will check it thoroughly, so plan for additional time in security. In addition, you have to:
1) Bring some padding to protect the PC in the overhead bin. Perhaps a blanket?
2) Board the plane early! If there's no room in the overhead, you'll be forced to check it . . . good luck in that case.
3) If there're sensitive data 😉 in the hard drive, uninstall it and carry separately.

I can't find anywhere that says no, I am more concerned with being harassed.

you'll probably get pulled aside and they'll do a chemical trace test on it. this probably takes a minute or two

Unless you're dealing with a jackass TSA employee and it could take a long time and ask lots of questions and force you to strip down... like they did with my brother while he was in full ACUs.

I bet you get taken out by the first security guard that sees you carrying that into the airport.

Dont be hating, they just wanted to see some buff Army guy in his underwear gosh.

Don't bring it. Just don't. FedEx will deliver anywhere you could possibly be heading by plane and they won't copy your hard drive or expose it to heavy magnetic fields.

Not a problem at all.
Have some extra wires sticking out of it, so they know it's a real computer.

No, you're supposed to have it setup so when you open the screen it displays a countdown as well as flashing arabic writing.
