i noticed in the driver panel under image quality ever since.. driver 77.72 my Iq setting is at quality... rather than the default high quality... now is it supposed to be like that.. or is nvidia being sneaky and trying to squeeze more performance with iq sacrifice....

Well, if it's different with this version, then there must be a reson they made it that way- I wonder what it is? Time for someone to do some IQ benches...
 
there was already IQ benches, it was stated that there is so little difference when comparing Q to HQ that the performance difference was not worth it. You won't be able to notice the difference even if you took two exactly same screenshots (at Q and HQ) and placed them side by side.
 
thanks.. i noticed with the xg type 3 it sets it to high maybe i was looking at that back when i saw the hq as default

You're probably very right about that. Between my wife working at nights and me watching my kids in the evenings, I don't get out much anymore. But, it was meant in good fun.

The default has been Quality ever since the option High Quality existed.

And there is a difference. Look here and see if you can live with it.
