You say you want to be "happy". What does that mean to you? I know a guy that has lived in FL, KY, CA, MD and Thailand trying to find happiness. He still isn't happy and is looking to move back to CA. IMHO - A job provides the means to happiness, the money to do the things that make you happy. If you enjoy your job, that is gravy. The amount of money required is dependent on your needs. It's too bad you don't have the money to visit various places in this vast country. You could then pick the one you like.
Try bestplaces.net survey and see what it comes up with.

I left home at age 16,for 3 weeks, lived on my own,
worked hard for a living.

I went back to High School and graduated.

Just before I turned 22 I bought my first house,am in my second home now.

Maybe when I retire I will move again. :)

Why? Why would you leave everything/everyone behind?

and why are you so willing to give up your gf of 4 years? 4 years should mean a little more of "commitment" than walking away and saying goodbye.

I'm with you there. I don't see how some people are willing to give up everything that really matters in life (friends/family) for a paycheck that's only slightly better than you can get at home.

But I've known people like that, and they put themself first and foremost and everyone else doesn't really matter to them. If they could sell their friends for money, they would.

I work to live, I don't live to work. Life comes first, work comes second. People who put their career ahead of their family/friends have their priorities all out of whack.
