Has anyone here seen Hero?

It's a very "artsy" kind of film, not to the liking of some people. To me it was great though, I liked the storytelling and fighting sequences.

i have the vcd, plant to buy the DVD when it comes out in the US
 
Yeah, I'm really anticipating this as well...I think my friend has a bootleg/divx of it, and luckily it's in Mandarin so I'll be set...can't wait to see it in the theaters tho...😀
 
its good. story is really good too. i like the way they did that, simple structure but very deep meaning.
 
Can someone explain the story? I just watched it... and I didn't quite understand some of that antiquated mandarin they used...

So Jet li at the beggining wants to pretend that he killed all 3 enemies of the emperor to get the rewards and as an act of good faith.
Then the emperor says "BS!! The died for you so you could get within 10 steps from me and use your super 10 steps killer moves".
Jet li then says "You are mistaken. Broken Sword actually is your ally and he didn't want to kill you" Jet li rethinks about the "All under one heaven" and decides not the kill the emperor so he can conquer all states and unify China. When Jet Li leaves all the emperor's people cry for Jet Li's head. I guess the emperor wanted to save face and decides to kill Jet Li. That's why at the end they say that "Nameless" was killed as a villian but he died as a Hero. He is a Hero cuz he didn't kill the emperor, and hence he was able to unify China.
 
pretty good movie although the fight scenes look a lil bit weird since it's more like they're performing. the story has a bit of twist in it and the reason w hy it seems like everyone dies and lives again is because there's a lot of story telling on how that event actually happened. the dvd with subtitled is already out somewhere. probably gotta import it or something.
 
GOOD MOVIE! awesome fighting seens, better the CTHD. this movie was released last october in china & got a academy award nomination for best foreign film.
