Has anyone here seen Amadeus on Bluray?

"Video: The good news is that Amadeus looks better than it ever has in this BD's VC-1 2.40:1 transfer. The bad news is there's some indication here of DNR, with that "waxy buildup" (at least it's not yellow) on skin surfaces especially. It's not the worst I've ever seen, but it lends a certain air of artificiality to the visual presentation at times. I also noticed some occasional haloing due to edge enhancement. If you can get past these anomalies, you have a solid visual presentation with excellent color and much sharper detail than on any previous DVD release. Contrast and black levels are generally good and consistent, and detail is quite impressive throughout."

I really should pop open that package and see if it's worth the $15 I paid for it at Amazon.

The sound is superb, and the picture is good, but nothing spectacular. If you are a fan of Amadeus, there is no reason not to buy it, especially when it is on sale (I think I grabbed it from Best Buy about a month ago for $15 or $20).

Fuck, it's he director's cut. This is probably the only instance where I truly hated a director's cut. The added scenes were unnecessary and messed up the timing of the movie. If only there was a way to watch the movie with and without the scenes added.

I got it for $16, I think. I agree what people say about the director's cut, since the added scenes really added nothing at all. The sound was excellent, however.

I'm just waiting for it to come in at the store close to me and I'll be picking it up. This is one of my favourite movies of all time and I already own it on VHS, have 2 different DVD versions, and 2 different versions of the soundtrack on CD. Can't wait to watch it on Blu-ray.

Love this movie, and would get it on Blu-ray just for the music. Having Americans not even trying to fake an accent play the Mozarts is odd though.

Isn't Vienna just outside of Boston? 😛
