My wife and I were discussing this earlier this evening, and pretty much decided that we don't want to have any more kids(have 2 wonderful daughters now). She does not want to have a historectomy---she's only 25 and doesn't exactly like the idea of going through the procedure and all the other things that go with it. And I can say I don't blame her. The "pill" won't work either---she's the worst about remembering to take any kind of medication. So, pretty much the only options we have left are abstinence or I can get a vasectomy. Abstinence ain't gonna happen:D, so I would like to hear some opinions from some guys that have had a vasectomy----any problems, regrets, etc.?

Some friends and my brother-in-law are now members of the "Clipper Team" ;) and they report no problems whatsoever. They were a bit sore after the procedure and things did swell up a bit (every mans dream, eh? :) ) but all said it was no big deal.

This might help...this was posted March 18th..
thread

I'm too young to be thinking about stuff like that, so I won't throw in my $0.0000005.

i dont think i like the idea of anyone going near my gear with scissors or a scalpel, although as snakesnfrogs said, if it came down to the choice of having the snip, or going without sex... bring out the surgery equipment...

I been there done that, VERY Minor surgry, go ahead with it. Anything your wife would have done is very intrusive and major work in comparsion. Yes, there is some swelling and discomfort for several days after but not terrible.

I can thankfully say no. I've never had any surgery done and I hope if I ever do it will NOT be that one.

there are other less permanent birth control methods that don't involve daily pill taking, i'm not sure if you've looked into them, the newest one is called lunelle, a monthly injection given at your doctor's that is very effective. on that same theory is another 3 month injection that is also given by your doctor and is quite effective as well (can't remember the name, starts w/ a d) or norplant, which is a minor surgery that puts a device in the skin under the arm that lasts for 3 years and is quite effective for the time that its in, but removable anytime b/f the 3 years are done. hope that gave you a few more options:)
