Has anyone here EVER successfully sold a computer/electronic item on Craigslist before?

I was just wondering if ANYONE had EVER successfully sold a computer or any piece of electronics on Craigslist before? I have posted a few items and, except for an occasional local buyer all I get is scammer emails even after I add this to my posting:

"NOTE: Scammers/thieves claiming to be from out-of-state, wanting to pay with Western Union, Moneygram, etc. and wanting to use their Fedex accounts for shipping are more than welcome to try to scam me ... it will not work (read the Craigslist warnings on scams). "

After these two experiences I find it hard to believe that Craigslist is as popular (except for the scammers) as it is.

rant over ...

we have a guy named Craig that works here, but he had open heart surgery a couple weeks ago and is still at home resting. i don't know if he has a list or not

Sold my old 9800 AIW just fine. Guy had REALLY bad BO when he came over to look at it though. Oh well. Prolly gonna sell my A64 3200+ and x800xl on there too.

I sold 8 xbox360's on Craigs List in December in about 1 week. Not to mention that 50 emails i got with counter offers or question

I've bought and sold many computer/electronics items here in Austin, I'm sure it helps to have a large local university population. Just ignore the scammer e-mails, or train your spam filter to get rid of 'em automatically.

I don't do much online selling/trading, so could someone tell me why this would be bad?

3 complete systems including monitor

2 TV's

a 03 Ford Pkup

a 01 Civic

All locally, at the price I asked and quickly I might add....😀

Yes.

No matter what your ad says you will receive scammers e-mails.

In my experience out of every 6 e-mails, 1 will be a legit inquiry.

I live in Central Florida. Craigslist just is not working for me. Glad to hear that others have had good luck. I guess I shouldn't complain since Craigslist is free ... and free is good.

I've had a number of successful sales on CL. There have been a number of scammers and lowballers too, but for free listings what else can you expect.

I tried to sell a car, but people on overseas business trips kept wanting to buy it. They stopped emailing me when I said I'd accept a Western Union cash transfer.. 😕
