I want to. Easier, cheaper, reversable, and relativly painless compared to ligation.

Well, I've already had 2 kids and I'm just now starting college half-time. I should be able to take more classes when my youngest gets into Kindergarten next year. Another little'un at this point would put a severe crimp in my plans to get a degree in the next few years, plus, I think I have enough kids at this point.

According to my doctor, the reversal procedure is a little more involved and is not always successful. He said something to the effect that after awhile, since the body has to re-absorb the "little guys", you can actually develop anti-bodies to them, thus making a successful reversal even more difficult.

My insurance covered it as well.

Just wait till tomorrow. Your no pain will become quite the opposite. Actually, it doesnt hurt too bad if you dont move around. I highly recommend laying on the couch. Even sitting in a chair becomes painful. Go rent some movies.

That's and some other concerns is why we practice "fertility appreciation" week. Worked about 4 years now.

Here's a link to a site on reversals:

link

Or here's a quote from that page:

Before the advent of microsurgical techniques, vasectomy reversal procedures were only occasionally successful. With the relatively recent advances in microsurgical techniques, instruments and suture materials, success rates have greatly increased.

Results of recent studies indicate that following microsurgical vasovasostomy sperm appears in the semen in approximately 85 to 97% of men. Approximately 50 percent of couples subsequently achieve a pregnancy.

Following microsurgical vasoepididymostomy, sperm appears in the semen in approximately 65% of men. Approximately 20 percent of couples subsequently achieve a pregnancy

The day after can be painful, just lay still and keep things iced down. After you heal, the fun begins :) .
