I really, really like Nirvana, and after seeing it listed on some site, I located a copy and it's really quite good! I'm surprised that it's rather unknown and a bit rare. (It's not even on their newly put out 3 disc set)

If you can "locate" a copy, check it out.

Isn't that the untitled/uncredited track from the "no alternative" compilation?

I always thought it was "verse chorus verse" also.

I have 4 versions of Sappy and 2 versions of the other. They're the same song.

Uh, just to make sure, we're all talking about the song with these lyrics, right?

And if you say your prayers
You will make God happy
And if you do what?s true
You will make me happy
I?ll keep you in a jar
And you will seem happy
I?ll give you breathing holes
You will think you?re happy, now

verse chorus verse was the original title of the song now called (or known as) In His Hands, IMO their best B Side...

afaik, there are three names/versions of the song which the OP is refering to, Sad, Sappy and VCV. Sad is a slllllow version of the song, Sappy was the title of one recording, and the secret track on the VA Compilation "No Alternative" has the studio final version. I think that nirvana never liked any recorded version of the song, so they never included it oin an album (my guess is it would have been on in utereo)....

regardless, a ridiculous song.... they did a realllly grungy version of it live in 1989, the file i had it was called VCV89.ra i think... was interesting to say the least...

when my band started we used to cover a lot of nirvana songs / remakes including vcv, in his hands, molly's lips (2 chords), drain you, and a bunch of others.
