The same that IE vs FF has to do with this thread, which is... wait for it... NOTHING!!!!

Just a reminder, the OP asked if anyone had IE7 or the Longhorn Beta so that they could answer his question.

Sheeesh!!!

we have the network locked down tight and yet we are still getting spyware..

You clearly do not understand the concept of locking down a network. It is also pretty clear that you allow your users (all 10k of them globally, WOWZERS!) run with elevated rights, probably local admin.

What the hell was I thinking? I was hoping to come in here to read good IE7 banter. God knows you Firefox whores can't keep your feet in your mouth long enough to let people have a reasonable discussiong about the browser THEY like.

It's not always about Firefox, asshats.

Firefox is a decent browser for home use, but it has serious flaws. It has had many significant vulnerabilities, including several that had been previously patched in IE. Talk about not learning from others mistakes. They also don't have a clear strategy for patching vulns and notifying users. And reinstalling the entire browser to patch a hole is asinine.

Also, the oft-mentioned argument about many eyes looking at the code for holes is crap. The vast majority of people looking at the code wouldn't know what a vuln looked like if it hit them, and those that do would rather work on sexier things than looking for vulnerabilities.

Not to mention FF's utter lack of enterprise managment with Group Policy. How is an admin supposed to configure a proxy server and a proxy exception list for thousands of clients and prevent the users from changing those settings? That can be done in five minutes with IE and GPOs, along with every other setting in IE..

I did. And yes I have used IE7. It kicks ass.

However, when people make ridiculous claims and spread FUD, I need to set them straight, regardless if it's on topic or not. Besides, this thread derailed long before I came along.

And you contributed to the derailing and contributed nothing other than say "It kicks ass." Thanks for that highly definative analysis of it. Do you have an answer to the original question and any more contributive comments on IE7?

Nothing that I can say publicly. Which is why this is a pointless thread. It is not available publicly.
